Memories...

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! 2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

4th of July Weekend

It is so great to look back over the past year and see how much has changed and how blessed we have been. I realized that last year we were still in WA at my family reunion and I was still pregnant with Sam. Now not only are we in a whole different state but Sam is almost 8 months old, crawling everywhere, pulling herself up, saying "ma-ma-ma", and feeding herself snacks! I love life so much! We have learned so much, and have been very blessed over in the past year!
We had a great and very memorable 4th of July weekend. We went to the parade here in Rexburg Friday morning, which was surprisingly big. As you can tell in the picture Sam slept through about half of it. Then Chris wanted to go fly his new kiteboarding trainer kite in the Stake center parking lot. Which ended soon after he began when the kite got stuck at the very top of a huge parking lot light pole. After an hour or so some friends came to try and help us. Finally after a few phone calls and interupting other people's 4th, some other friends came to the rescue with a really long pole and we got it down. Of course by this time it was after 4:00 PM (we started flying the kite at 11:45 AM) and we were all starving and really overheated! So we went to the Stokes for a BBQ and much needed swim in their pool! Sam loved the water and her swimming lesson with Daddy!

Oh, that's not the end of it though! That night we get home and were getting ready for bed when Chris got what we thought was a splinter in his foot. He tried unsuccessfully to get it out but finally gave up to go to sleep. The next morning when he woke up he realized that it wasn't just a splinter and that he needed to go to the doctor. They took x-rays and realized that he stepped on a sewing needle that went in backwards and then broke off about 1/4 in. from the surface. (You could even see the eye on the needle in the x-ray!) So they set him to the hospital to have it removed. After a lot of pain and difficulty they finally got it out and sent him home with a tetnus shot and some antibiotics.

By the time Sunday came we were ready to rest! All in all it was a really great weekend! (Sorry we couldn't get copies of the x-rays to post also, they were crazy looking!)
